Welcome to Shropshire Climbing Centre

Shropshire Climbing Centre offers a state of the art bouldering and roped climbing facility, in Newport near Telford. 
  • With over 450 sq.m of bouldering, we are the largest bouldering venue in the region.
  • In addition there are 10 roped lines giving between 20 and 30 roped routes.
  • In total there is over 450 m sq of climbing surface.
  • Genuine Moon Board and Campus board.
  • Regularly changed problems by top route-setters
  • Regular Slackline sessions

Whether beginner or expert Shropshire Climbing Centre offers something for every climber or aspiring climber.

Opening Times

Mon - Fri: 4-10pm term times;  2-10pm school holidays (pre-booked groups from 9.30am)

Weekends:  10-6 (children's climbing clubs 10-11.30)

School holidays: childrens club 2-3.30pm every weekday, 10-11.30am weekends

Term times: childrens club Tuesday, Thursday 4.30-6 pm, 10-11.30 am Saturday, Sunday

A series of font-style circuits of different levels, which are changed regularly.

We also have mega-traverses  (over 50 m in length) for stamina training.

Run by climbers, for climbers, we aim to provide a quality climbing experience. To achieve this, we employ top-class routesetters who regularly change our circuits.

Since opening in Spring 2009, we continue to attract visitors who are impressed by the quality and variety of the climbing on offer.

In addition to the large bouldering area, we have a roped climbing section, child-friendly bouldering area, café serving proper cappuccino, and seating area.

We also run courses, competitions and outdoor courses, as well as catering for schools, groups and parties.
